For those with no previous boating experience, this 1 day course will introduce you to the basics of power boating. Minimum age of 8 applies however students aged under 16 shall have their certificate endorsed as such. 2008 Course Dates:- HERE This course last 2 days and addresses areas such as launching and recovery, boat handling, mooring, man overboard recovery, basic chart work and anchoring. Our level 2 also includes the Coastal Endorsement. The course also leads to the award of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) - an internationally recognized "license", essential if you wish to use your boat in Europe. There is no requirement to hold a Level 1 prior to taking this course. ICC’s & Level 2
direct assessments are also of 1-day duration. Our Level 1 & 2 courses and assessment’s have a maximum of 3 people per boat. One to one tuition available also Courses are run either in our own fully equipped 5.5m Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), or students own boat. Every yachtsman power or sail should attend this one day course. This course, can be best described as "A day of fun addressing a serious subject" is available to both professional and leisure yachtsmen and yachtswomen. The course is based in the classroom with a two hour practical session in a swimming pool. Many skippers take the whole crew on the RYA Sea Survival Course and have found this to be a very enlightening experience. 2008Course Dates:-
The course is recognized for all R.Y.A. qualifications, including instructors awards. All serious yachtsmen and women should give serious consideration to attending the course for their own safety and that their crew members. The syllabus includes the treatment of injuries and ailments including hypothermia. This certificate is valid for 3 years from the time of issue and is prerequisite for those taking the RYA Instructor courses, Yachtmaster Offshore Examination and those seeking commercial Endorsement. Dates:- Please Call VHF (SRC)We are suppliers of VHF courses to Christchurch Borough Council & Dorset Police for their marine Patrol crew's. These are 1 Day courses covering all aspects of marine DSC Radio inc GMDSS. On satisfactory completion of this course the candidate is awarded the "Maritime Radio Operator Certificate of Competence" Short Range Certificate. Issued by the RYA on behalf of MCA. On our Radio Courses we use the latest Radio simulators from ICOM, these are complemented by, Computer Simulation software which is fully endorsed by the RYA. For holders of the restricted VHF 1/2 day conversion courses are available also.

This 2 day course is fully approved by BSAC and follows their Syllabus which leads to the award of the BSAC Boat handling SDC. We address areas such as launching and recovery, boat handling, mooring, man overboard recovery, basic chart work, Diver recovery and anchoring. 2008 Course Dates:- HERE This half day assessment follows the Diver Cox'n requirements and leads to the BSAC Diver Cox'n SDC It is recommended that candidates have at least 5 Hrs diving related boat handling experience since completing the boat handling course or have at least 20 Hours logged diving related boat handling experience. Successful completion of this assessment also leads to the award of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC) - an internationally recognized "license", essential if you wish to use your boat in Europe. 2008 Course Dates:- HERE Chart work and position fixing This two day BSAC course covers all aspects of Chart work and position fixing SDC and DL7 should this be needed. Day one covers position fixing, LAT & Long, Distance, chart symbols and more. Day two starts with putting into practice that learnt on day one, plotting a course and finally putting to sea to practice all aspects and finally run your plotted course., 2008 Course Dates:- HERE
